A Transformative Endeavor Has Been Launched To Enhance Connectivity And Accessibility In Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Oct 1 (TNA) In the hill state of Uttarakhand, a transformative endeavor has been launched to enhance connectivity and accessibility. The construction, operation, and maintenance of a 2-lane Bi-directional Silkyara Bend-Barkot Tunnel, complete with an escape passage and connecting approaches, is currently underway on the Dharasu-Yamunotri section of National Highway 134.

This monumental project spans a total length of 25.6 kilometers. The upgraded tunnel is poised to bring about year-round accessibility, a development of immense significance for the local economy and the residents of the region.

Union Surface Transport minister Nitin Gadkari, who is spearheading the gigantic infrastructure leaps in the country said: “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this ambitious undertaking is dedicated to achieving swift, seamless, and environmentally sustainable mobility in the state of Uttarakhand.
