25 Killed As Bus Overturns, Hits The Divider And Catches Fire On The Maharashtra Expressway

New Delhi, July 1 (TNA) In a tragic incident, at least 25 people, including three children, were killed and eight others injured when the bus they were travelling in caught fire on a Maharashtra expressway near Buldhana. There were 33 people in the bus which was on its way to Pune, officials said.

It was further informed that the accident occurred at around 2 am on the Samruddhi-Mahamarg Expressway. Police said the bus rammed into a divider following a tyre burst and then turtled, minutes after which it caught fire.

"25 people were burnt to death in the accident. The injured, including the bus driver, have been shifted to a hospital for treatment, said, Sunil Kadasane, Superintendent of Police, Buldhana told reporters. Bodies which have been charred are yet to be identified and efforts are being made to do so, the official further added.
