18 Indian Airports Shut Down Till May 10, 430 Flights Cancelled
New Delhi, May 7 (TNA) Following the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, after Indian armed forces struck at nine places, killing several terrorists and their sympathisers in Pakistan and PoK, as a matter of abundant caution, Indian government has shut down 18 airports till May 10.
This is in anticipation of retaliation by Pakistan. The airports that have been shut down include Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Patahankot, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Dharmshala, Jamnagar and Shimla.
As a result of this, 430 flights have been cancelled. Air India and IndiGo have issued advisories for travellers. They have told passengers that following the advisory by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, all flights to and fro from these airports that have been shut down, are being cancelled till May 10 till 0529 hours.
