VARANASI || Crime in Uttar Pradesh continued to spike on Friday as two men were shot dead in broad daylight in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi. According to the information available, the incident took place near the Kali temple in Chaukaghat.
Angry at the day light crime, people held the traffic for some time. While two persons were killed on the spot, another one - Deepak was injured with gun shot wounds and is being treated at a medical facility where police went to talk to him with regards to some possible leads, an official told The News Agency.
According to the police, the deceased too have a criminal record and the shoot out appears to be due to some old animosity. The deceased have been identified as Sanjay and Valmiki Gaur. Sanjay was on bike with Deepak while Valmiki was a driver of a trolley and was a passerby.
