Lucknow, September 17 (TNA) On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has organised a solo photography exhibition titled “The Natural Forms of Ganesha” by photographer Puneet Katyayan at Hazratganj Metro Station. The exhibition was inaugurated by Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, UPMRC. Bhupendra Asthana is the curator of the exhibition.

The exhibition features 20 photographs of naturally occurring forms of Lord Ganesha, seen in the textures and patterns of tree bark, tree trunks, stones and other natural surfaces. The photographer identified these forms within tiny natural frames of just 2 to 3 inches, capturing and enlarging them for display. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on how nature can reveal familiar forms through close observation and patience.

Puneet Katyayan has been working in the fields of nature, spirituality and visual storytelling for over 15 years.

His ‘Tree Bark Series’ explores hidden forms and patterns in tree bark, while the ‘Gajanan’ series takes this exploration into the spiritual realm. The photographs capture forms that emerge naturally from tree surfaces, including weathered, injured and cut trees. No artificial intervention has been used; the textures, colours and patterns are entirely natural.

Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Kumar said, “UPMRC has always made efforts to promote art and culture and provide artists with a platform to showcase their work. Metro is not just a mode of transport. It is also a safe and welcoming space where people can travel and connect with art and culture.”

Curator Bhupendra Asthana said the exhibition highlights how close observation can reveal artistic and spiritual forms in the most ordinary elements of nature, while also encouraging greater appreciation for nature and its textures. The exhibition witnessed the presence of artists, photographers, students, art enthusiasts and members of the public.
