Mumbai, September 11 (TNA) Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu has raised a food-safety concern after claiming she found tiny worms inside a newly opened container of Isopure protein powder, and has publicly appealed to Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe for intervention.
On Thursday, the actor shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing the jar's contents and pointing to what she said were “tiny, tiny worms” in the product. In the clip, she said, “This Isopure is full of worms… tiny tiny worms. The new dabba that we’ve opened is full of worms,” and even showed a small insect-like particle on her finger.
Bipasha directly tagged Commissioner Mundhe in her post, writing, “@tukaram_ias You are our only hope,” and urged him to take strict action against adulterated and sub-standard products. Her post has reignited debate over food safety and quality control in packaged nutrition and supplement products, especially after a series of high-profile contamination complaints in Maharashtra over the past year.
