New Delhi, October 30 (TNA) The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Super Speciality, or NEET-SS 2026, on December 11 and 12 for admission to DM, MCh and DrNB super-speciality courses for the 2026–27 academic session.

The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode at designated centres across the country. NEET-SS is the qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to eligible super-speciality programmes in India.

Registration Window Open

The online application process began on October 29 at 3 p.m. and will remain open until November 18 at 11:55 p.m. Candidates must submit their applications through the official NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in.

NBEMS has said that applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted. Candidates have also been advised to read the information bulletin carefully and verify all details and uploaded documents before submitting the form.

Courses Covered

NEET-SS 2026 will serve as the single entrance examination for DM and MCh courses, including programmes offered by private medical colleges, institutions, universities and deemed universities. It will also cover DrNB super-speciality courses, except direct six-year DrNB programmes.

The examination will also apply to DM and MCh programmes at Armed Forces Medical Services institutions. However, AIIMS institutions, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology are excluded from admission through NEET-SS for the 2026–27 session.

Eligibility and Counselling

Candidates must possess, or be likely to possess by January 31, 2027, a recognised MD, MS or DNB broad-speciality qualification in the relevant feeder speciality. Eligibility will remain provisional until verification during the admission process.

NBEMS will conduct the examination, declare the result and forward the merit information to the designated counselling authority. Seat allotment and counselling will be handled through the common counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

The board has clarified that appearing in NEET-SS does not automatically guarantee a super-speciality seat. Candidates must meet the applicable admission, eligibility and medical-fitness requirements of the concerned institution and regulatory authorities.

Candidates Advised to Apply Early

NBEMS has advised applicants not to wait until the final hours to submit their forms, citing the possibility of heavy internet traffic, payment failure or connectivity problems. No request to accept an application after the deadline will be entertained.

Admit cards are scheduled to be released on December 7. Candidates should rely only on official updates published on the NBEMS website and should not share application credentials, one-time passwords or identity documents with unauthorised third parties.
