New Delhi, October 17 (TNA) All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora was released by the Delhi Police early Saturday, while Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke remained in custody and was scheduled to be produced before a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) court.

Bora and Dipke were detained on Friday during the “Lehra Do Tiranga” march near Connaught Place. Bora was taken into custody while travelling towards Mandi House, while Dipke was detained as he was heading to the protest venue.

The Delhi Police released Bora after completing formalities under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act. She was reportedly released at around 6 am after spending nearly 12 hours in custody. Police initiated further action against Dipke under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

He was subsequently placed under preventive arrest and is expected to be produced before the SEM court for further proceedings. The court is likely to consider the police’s allegations that Dipke’s presence and activities could disturb public order. It may decide whether he should be released or kept in custody, according to reports.

The “Lehra Do Tiranga” march was organised in Delhi on Friday. Participants gathered near central Delhi and sought to raise public and political issues, while police detained several people as a precautionary measure.

The detentions have drawn attention from student and political groups, who questioned the use of preventive provisions against protest participants. Police maintained that the action was taken to prevent disruption of public peace and maintain order in the capital.

Dipke’s appearance before the SEM court will determine the immediate course of action in the case. Further details are expected after the court proceedings.
