New Delhi, August 28 (TNA) On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, five mothers from Vrindavan and Varanasi got the chance to tie Rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hundreds of women living in various ashrams in Vrindavan and Varanasi consider Modi as their “brother” and craft Rakhis every year.
On the sacred festival of Rakhi, this year too, five widowed mothers from Vrindavan and Varanasi had the blessed fortune of tying Rakhi to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. More than 1,100 special Rakhis were handcrafted by the widowed mothers of Vrindavan for their beloved brother, Modi, and were presented to him today.
With the support of Sulabh International, Rakhis were made for the Prime Minister this year as well, and a group of mothers were brought to Delhi. Today, five widowed mothers visited the Prime Minister's residence and tied Rakhi to their beloved brother Modi. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also enquired about their well-being and expressed his heartfelt gratitude, mother informed on their return.
The mothers who got the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister today were Maa Shobha Adhikari and Maa Sota Devi from Varanasi, and Maa Geeta Dasi, Maa Pushpa Adhikari and Maa Menka Mandal from Vrindavan.
