Mumbai, August 22 (TNA) A case has been registered in Maharashtra’s Latur district against Cockroach Janta Party convenor Abhijit Dipke and several others for allegedly entering a government school without permission, disrupting classes and threatening teachers, police said.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on August 20 at a Zilla Parishad Urdu school in Urdh Ausa, in Latur, when Dipke, Ajay Shinde and four to five unidentified persons entered the campus, sat among students and questioned teachers in front of the class.
The complainant, a 53-year-old education department employee, alleged that the group filmed the visit, circulated the footage on social media and later made objectionable remarks about the school and its teachers.
Teachers also alleged that they were threatened with suspension when they objected to the group’s conduct. Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions related to criminal trespass, intimidation and assault on a public servant, and further investigation is underway.
The controversy comes after Dipke’s earlier allegations during his “School Thik Karo” campaign that students from another school had been brought in to present a better picture of the institution.
