Vilnius, September 16 (TNA) An Italian NATO fighter jet shot down a drone over Lithuania on September 15, which likely entered from Belarus. A drone alert was issued earlier in the capital, Vilnius and the surrounding region.
Officials did not say whether the drone was believed to be Ukrainian or Russian. Ukraine blamed the incidents on Russia affecting the drones' paths with electromagnetic warfare.
Military drones straying into the airspace of Russia's neighbours have stoked concerns that Russia's conflict with Ukraine is spilling over NATO's borders.
