Foshan, September (TNA) At least eight people were killed and one injured after a fire broke out at a textile company’s factory in Foshan city, in south China’s Guangdong province, local authorities said on Monday.
The fire broke out at around 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Shunde district of Foshan, according to reports from China’s state-run Xinhua news agency. Emergency and rescue teams were deployed to the site after the blaze was reported.
One person injured in the incident has been taken for medical treatment. Search-and-rescue operations were still underway, officials said. Authorities have not yet released details about the identities of the victims or the cause of the fire.
