Geneva, August 30 (TNA) One person was killed and five others were wounded, some seriously, after shots were fired near the Aarauer Rave in northern Switzerland early Sunday, police said. The shooting broke out at the Schachen racecourse area in Aarau, about 46 km west of Zurich, where the annual event had drawn thousands of partygoers.
Local police said the search for the unknown perpetrator was under way and that the motive and exact circumstances were still unclear. Swiss media reported that the shots were fired shortly before 3 a.m., while the rave was still underway.
Authorities mounted what they described as a large-scale response at the scene, and police said they were still trying to reconstruct the sequence of events. No further details about the victims or suspect were immediately released.
