Nagoya, September 30 (TNA) India enjoyed a golden run on the 11th day of the 2026 Asian Games, winning four gold medals-three in archery and one in shooting. The haul took India’s overall tally to 60 medals, including 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze.
India moved ahead of Iran in the medal standings and rose to seventh position. The country’s improved ranking was powered by a clean sweep of the three compound archery team gold medals and a record-breaking performance in mixed-team trap shooting.
Archery Dominates
India began the day with gold in the women’s compound team event. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234 in the final. The Indian women also equalled South Korea’s world record during their campaign. The victory gave India its seventh gold medal of the Games and underlined the country’s growing strength in compound archery.
India then won gold in the mixed compound team event. The victory also secured the Indian team’s qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, adding further significance to the result. The men’s compound team completed India’s golden sweep. Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and T. Ganesh Mani Ratnam defeated China 238-237 in a closely contested final. India’s one-point victory completed a hat-trick of compound archery gold medals on Day 11.
Shooting Adds Fourth Gold
India’s fourth gold of the day came in the mixed team trap event, where Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai finished on top. The Indian pair scored 34 points in the final, surpassing the previous Asian record of 30 set by Qatar in January. The result lifted India’s shooting medal tally at the Games to 15, including three gold, eight silver and four bronze medals.
India’s Medal Position
With 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze medals, India has now accumulated 60 medals and moved to seventh in the overall standings. Iran was pushed behind India after the country’s four-gold haul on Wednesday. The performance marks India’s best single-day gold-medal return at the Games since September 19. The country will now look to build on the momentum in athletics, boxing, hockey and other events in the remaining days of the competition.
