Trichy, August 22 (TNA) An IndiGo flight bound for Singapore made an emergency landing at Tiruchirappalli airport on Friday evening after a technical snag was detected shortly after takeoff, leaving all 127 passengers safe.
The aircraft reportedly circled in the sky for about 2.5 hours before returning to Trichy, as pilots followed emergency procedures and coordinated with air traffic control.
According to news reports, the problem was noticed soon after the plane took off, prompting the crew to turn back in the interest of safety.
The flight landed safely at around 9 pm after all necessary ground arrangements were put in place at the airport. The incident caused concern among passengers, but officials ensured there was no immediate danger once the technical issue was identified. As per the report, fuel was reduced in the air to meet landing safety requirements before the aircraft could touch down safely.
The airport director said the landing was carried out smoothly after standard operating and safety procedures were completed.
