Lucknow, September 14 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 14 IAS officers and 34 PCS officers and assigning them new responsibilities across districts, government departments and key state institutions.
The transfer orders, issued late Sunday night, include changes in the postings of chief development officers, additional commissioners, district-level administrators and officials attached to important government bodies.
Among the significant changes, Sumit Rajesh Mahajan, Chief Development Officer of Saharanpur, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Start-up Mission. Dr Sunil Kumar Verma, who was serving as Additional Commissioner in the State Tax Department, has been posted as the new Chief Development Officer of Saharanpur.
Abhishek Kumar, Chief Development Officer of Lakhimpur Kheri, has been transferred as Special Secretary in the Information Technology and Electronics Department. The reshuffle also changes the posting of chief development officers in three districts, with several officers being assigned responsibilities as additional commissioners in different divisions.
In another key change, Vishwabhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Varanasi Special Area Development Authority, has been shifted to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission as Deputy Secretary. The transfer of the officer overseeing administration at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple complex is being viewed as one of the notable changes in the latest set of orders.
The government has also transferred 34 Provincial Civil Service officers. Among them, Siddharthnagar SDM Renu Mishra has been posted to Farrukhabad, Gonda SDM Pradeep Kumar Singh has been transferred to Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Kanpur Dehat SDM Pradyumna Kumar has been posted to Basti.
The large-scale reshuffle is expected to strengthen field administration and fill important vacancies before the government’s next round of developmental and administrative reviews. The state government has not publicly cited individual reasons for the transfers.
