New Delhi, September 15 (TNA) The Patiala House Court has granted three weeks of interim bail to Swatantra Bhardwaj, who is in judicial custody in connection with an alleged assault during a Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar.

The case relates to the alleged assault of the father of a minor CJP activist during a protest held in July. Police arrested Bhardwaj after a complaint was filed and an investigation was initiated.

Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler passed the order after hearing arguments from both sides. Bhardwaj had sought regular bail, but the court granted him interim relief for three weeks while proceedings concerning his bail plea continue.

According to reports, the alleged assault took place during the CJP demonstration, where the victim was reportedly attacked. Bhardwaj is accused of assaulting the activist’s father, although the allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.

Bhardwaj was in judicial custody until September 21 following his arrest by Delhi Police. He is expected to be released after the bail formalities are completed, subject to the conditions imposed by the court.

The court’s order provides temporary relief and does not determine Bhardwaj’s guilt or innocence. The investigation and legal proceedings in the case will continue.
