Lucknow, October 29 (TNA) Rain began in Lucknow on Thursday after dark clouds gathered over the city, marking a sudden change in weather conditions. The city had experienced relatively clear weather earlier in the day, but cloud cover increased later before showers began in several areas. The rainfall brought relief from the recent warmth and led to a noticeable change in the atmosphere.
Rain Linked to Weather System
The change in weather has been linked to the influence of Cyclone Arnab, which is expected to affect parts of Uttar Pradesh over the next few days. Forecasts indicate the possibility of light to moderate rain in Lucknow between October 29 and 31, accompanied by gusty winds. The India Meteorological Department has warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph, with speeds occasionally reaching 50 kmph in parts of the region.
Temperatures May Fall
The rain and strong winds are expected to bring down daytime temperatures and provide relief from the prevailing heat. The weather system could lower maximum temperatures by around 6–8 degrees Celsius over the next few days, according to forecasts.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms, particularly near trees, hoardings, electric poles and other temporary structures.
Commuters have also been urged to drive carefully on wet roads and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers. Rainfall activity is expected to continue intermittently in Lucknow and adjoining areas as the weather system moves across the region.
