Lucknow, August 24 (TNA) Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has approached the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, through his counsel, Dr Nutan Thakur and Deepak Kumar, seeking expeditious hearing of his case challenging his compulsory retirement from the IPS in March 2021.
Amitabh Thakur filed Original Application No. 147/2021 in June 2021 before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Lucknow. On 22 November 2023, the Tribunal directed the matter to be placed for final hearing. However, the final hearing has still not taken place, and the case has remained pending for over five years.
He has sought a direction for the CAT to hear and decide the matter expeditiously, within a fixed time. The petition is listed on 25 August 2026 before Justice Jaspreet Singh.
