Lucknow, October 30 (TNA) Five Indian Administrative Service officers of the Uttar Pradesh cadre are scheduled to retire from government service on October 31, marking a significant change in the state’s senior administrative structure.

The officers set to superannuate are Deepak Kumar, Kamran Rizvi, Vimal Kumar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar and Shiv Prasad. Their retirements are part of the annual changes in the state bureaucracy and are expected to create vacancies in senior-level assignments.

The list includes two senior officers from the 1990 and 1991 batches, along with three officers from the 2008, 2009 and 2012 batches. The retirement schedule has been cited in reports tracking the Uttar Pradesh cadre’s 2026 superannuation calendar.

Deepak Kumar Among Senior Retirees

Deepak Kumar, a 1990-batch officer, is currently associated with key responsibilities in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure and industrial development administration. The Invest UP website lists him as the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner.

He is among the most senior officers scheduled to retire this month. His exit is expected to prompt decisions on the allocation of important administrative responsibilities within the state government.

Wider Administrative Changes

Kamran Rizvi, a 1991-batch officer, is also scheduled to retire on October 31. Reports have identified him among the senior officers whose departure will contribute to changes in the state and central deputation-related administrative landscape.

Vimal Kumar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar and Shiv Prasad complete the list of five officers retiring on the same date. Dubey has previously served as Divisional Commissioner of Jhansi, while Rajesh Kumar and Shiv Prasad are listed among the officers due to retire from the Uttar Pradesh cadre in October 2026.

Possible Reshuffle Ahead

The retirements are likely to lead to adjustments in departmental responsibilities and may become part of a broader bureaucratic reshuffle. The state government will decide whether the vacant posts are filled through fresh appointments, additional charges or internal transfers.

The changes come ahead of further retirements scheduled in the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy later in the year. The 2026 retirement calendar has been described as one of the more significant periods of transition for the state’s senior administration, with several officers from different batches due to leave service.
