Baghpat police attach Rs 3.5 crore property of gangster Dharmendra

Baghpat, August 30 (TNA) Acting on the directions of the Superintendent of Police, Baghpat, police on Sunday attached illegally acquired property linked to Dharmendra, son of Rampal, a resident of Kirthal village under Ramala police station area.

Officials said the accused, who is listed as a state-level identified crime mafia and gang leader, had allegedly accumulated agricultural land in Kirthal and Lumb villages through criminal and anti-social activities.

According to the police release, the attached property measures 8,130 square metres in total, including 5,880 square metres in Kirthal and 2,250 square metres in Lumb. The current market value of the land has been estimated at around Rs 3.50 crore, and an administrator has also been appointed for the seized property.

Officials said Dharmendra is facing 55 criminal cases registered at different police stations, including cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, Arms Act violations, Gangsters Act and the Uttar Pradesh Goondas Act. He is currently lodged in Ambedkar Nagar jail, the police said.

The attachment was carried out by the sub-divisional magistrate and the circle officer of Baghpat, following orders from the district magistrate, as part of the ongoing crackdown on organised crime in the district.
