Paris, October 21 (TNA) President Emmanuel Macron has criticised world leaders for making “stupid” comments about the rioting in France. He accused some leaders of repeating AI-generated content and spreading misleading narratives about the events for political gain.

Macron said there was no visible foreign interference in the events in France, but alleged that foreign manipulation of information had led to unacceptable and “stupid” remarks by several people, including foreign leaders.

Macron said AI-generated images had shown scenes that never took place in France. He also rejected claims that the country was being overrun by migrants and Islamists, calling those claims completely untrue.

"There are people who are campaigning at France’s expense. When I see leaders who are in campaign mode in the region or on the other side of the Atlantic, who sometimes naively repeat what’s generated by artificial intelligence, or who pass on what certain circles obviously want people to believe about what has happened in France… well, they are campaigning on our backs," he said.

"For me, there is no visible foreign interference in the events that took place. On the other hand, there was foreign manipulation of information which led to unacceptable and even stupid comments by many, including foreign leaders. That is to say, we’ve seen AI-generated images showing scenes that have never taken place in France. We’ve had people claiming that we were being overrun by hordes of migrants and Islamists, which is completely untrue," he added.
