Alaska, August 22 (TNA) A charter aircraft carrying eight people crashed at a remote US Air Force site in Alaska, killing all on board. The Alaskan Command said that the civilian-contracted plane crashed at the long-range radar site in Cape Newenham, on the state's southwestern tip.

Rescuers who reached the crash site confirmed there were no survivors. The radar site tracks aircraft operating in Alaskan airspace. An Alaskan Command spokesperson said it was investigating the crash and would name the dead after their families had been informed.

Alaskan Command chief Robert Davis described the incident as a devastating loss for the military and local communities.
