Ghaziabad, November 7 (TNA) A group calling itself Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan has claimed responsibility on social media for the explosion at the Vasundhara police outpost in Ghaziabad, prompting security agencies to intensify their investigation.

The claim appeared in a post shared through an X account identified as “Ghazi 2.” The post allegedly threatened the police outpost and attributed the explosion to the group. However, police have not verified the authenticity of the account or established any connection between the organisation and the blast.

ATS Joins Investigation

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad and bomb-disposal teams have been sent to the site as investigators examine whether the incident had a terror angle. Police teams are also analysing the social media post, its origin and the digital footprint of the account that circulated it.

Officials said the claim was being treated as an investigative lead rather than confirmed evidence. Authorities have urged people not to circulate unverified material that could create panic or interfere with the probe.

One Injured in Blast

The explosion occurred at the Vasundhara police outpost under the Indirapuram police station late on Friday. Windowpanes were damaged, and a food-delivery worker sustained minor injuries after being hit by broken glass. A sub-inspector was reportedly present at the outpost when the blast occurred. No other casualties were immediately reported.

Cause Yet to Be Established

Forensic teams examined the damaged premises and collected samples to determine the nature and source of the explosion. Investigators are considering multiple possibilities, including an accidental blast, an electrical fault or the use of an explosive substance.

Early reports suggested that no confirmed explosive traces had been found, although the investigation was continuing and authorities had not ruled out any angle.

Senior police officials said the authenticity of the responsibility claim would be assessed alongside forensic findings, CCTV footage, witness statements and technical evidence. Further action will be taken if the post is found to be part of a genuine terror communication or a deliberate attempt to mislead investigators.
