Lucknow, September 30 (TNA) The Samajwadi Party has named Professor Ramgopal Yadav and Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani as its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh. The two candidates filed their nomination papers at 11 am on Wednesday in the presence of SP national president Akhilesh Yadav.
Nathwani’s Corporate Background
Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani has been associated with the Reliance group for several years. He is a director at Reliance New Energy and has also held senior responsibilities within Reliance Industries.
His nomination marks the entry of a prominent corporate figure into the SP’s Rajya Sabha candidate list. The selection has attracted attention because of Nathwani’s longstanding association with the Reliance group and his public-service and sports-administration background.

Rajya Sabha Election Schedule
The Election Commission issued the notification for the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha elections on September 29. The last date for filing nominations is October 6, while scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 7. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until October 9.
The polling, if required, is scheduled for October 16. The SP has so far announced two candidates and has not disclosed whether it will field a nominee for a third seat.
