Lucknow Metro Helps Ensure Safety of Hearing-and-Speech-Impaired Woman

Lucknow, August 25 (TNA) The alertness and sensitivity of Lucknow Metro security personnel helped ensure the safety of a hearing- and speech-impaired woman from Mumbai and her child, who were found wandering near Alambagh Bus Stand Metro Station. The timely intervention of the Metro team and coordination with the Lucknow Police ensured the safe handover of the woman and her child to the concerned authorities.

A woman passenger, identified as Savitri Devi, was found wandering for a considerable period near Alambagh Bus Stand Metro Station. The Metro security personnel noticed the woman and immediately approached her to understand her situation and identity.

During the interaction, it was found that the woman was unable to hear or speak. Considering the circumstances, the Station Controller requested her to provide her personal details in writing. Based on the information provided by her, it was established that she was a resident of Reeksha village, Kalyanpur, Mumbai.

It was also learnt that the woman had reportedly been wandering in the vicinity of Alambagh Bus Station for the past few days. Taking the matter seriously, the Metro authorities promptly coordinated with the Lucknow Police Commissionerate for further assistance.

A Woman Constable from the Lucknow Police Commissionerate subsequently reached the station. Following the necessary verification and formalities, Savitri Devi was safely handed over to the police along with her child.

The prompt response, alertness and sensitivity demonstrated by the Lucknow Metro team ensured that the woman received timely assistance and was safely brought under the care of the authorities.
