Rampur, October 8 (TNA) A history-sheeter was shot dead in broad daylight in Rampur’s Bilaspur area on Thursday morning, triggering panic in the locality. According to reports, three assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at a country liquor shop, leaving the victim critically injured.
The deceased has been identified as Sunny, alias Sanya, a resident of Bareilly. He was standing near the liquor shop when the attackers allegedly fired around six rounds and fled from the scene immediately after the attack.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and began an investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem, while teams are checking the area for CCTV footage and other clues to identify the attackers.
Reports said Sunny had a criminal background and faced more than two dozen cases. The murder has raised concerns over the law-and-order situation in the area.
