Noida, November 4 (TNA) The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has secured the first position in Uttar Pradesh for the prompt, transparent and effective resolution of complaints received through the Jan Sunwai–Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal.

The ranking was recorded in the evaluation report for October 2026 issued by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office. The recognition highlights the commissionerate’s performance in handling public complaints and ensuring time-bound disposal.

26 Police Stations Secure Top Rank

In an additional achievement, 26 police stations under the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate also secured the first position in the state in their respective evaluations.

Police officials said the performance reflected regular monitoring of complaints, timely inquiries and efforts to provide complainants with satisfactory and legally sound resolutions. The commissionerate has previously been recognised for its IGRS grievance-redressal performance, with officials instructing police stations to designate personnel for immediate contact with complainants.

Focus on Transparent Disposal

The Jan Sunwai–IGRS portal enables citizens to submit complaints and track their disposal by government departments and law-enforcement agencies. The system is intended to improve accountability and reduce delays in addressing public grievances.

Officials said complaints were reviewed at different supervisory levels to ensure that cases were not closed merely as a formality. Investigating officers were directed to examine each grievance on its merits and keep complainants informed about the action taken.

Commissionerate Applauded

The achievement is expected to encourage police personnel to maintain the same level of responsiveness in future evaluations. The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate said it would continue strengthening public-facing grievance mechanisms and improving coordination between police stations and supervisory officers.

The October ranking also places renewed emphasis on citizen satisfaction, accurate documentation and compliance with prescribed timelines in the disposal of complaints.
