Lucknow, October 13 (TNA) A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the 10th floor of Hotel Celestial Manor in Lucknow’s Omaxe New Hazratganj complex on Monday evening. The incident took place around 6 pm under the jurisdiction of the Sushant Golf City police station.
The deceased was identified as Samreen, a resident of the Chowk area’s Hata Surat Singh locality. Police said she had checked into the hotel with Avnish Jaiswal, a resident of Sultanpur, earlier in the day.
Man leaves after incident
According to preliminary police information, Samreen and Avnish entered room number 1037 at around 11:46 am and remained there for nearly six hours. The woman later fell from the room under circumstances that are yet to be established.
Police said Avnish allegedly left the hotel shortly after the incident. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and are searching for him to question him about the events leading up to Samreen’s death.
Police probe underway
The police reached the spot after receiving information from the hotel’s security staff. A forensic field unit was called in to photograph and examine the scene and collect possible evidence.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Police are investigating all possible angles, including an accident, suicide and foul play, and said the post-mortem findings and forensic evidence will help determine the exact circumstances of the death.
