Dubai, October 6 (TNA) Pakistan Champions have withdrawn from the ongoing third season of the World Championship of Legends after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refused to issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the team’s players.
The team confirmed that it would not be able to participate after the PCB maintained its decision to withhold the required clearances. The development followed weeks of uncertainty surrounding Pakistan’s participation in the veterans’ tournament.
Pakistan’s opening match against Bangladesh Champions, scheduled for October 3, was postponed due to “technical reasons”. Its match against Australia Champions, scheduled for October 6, was also cancelled.
The withdrawal has also resulted in the cancellation of the much-anticipated India Champions-Pakistan Champions match, which was scheduled to be played in Dubai on October 10.
The dispute reportedly stemmed from the fallout of last year’s tournament and disagreements over conditions linked to matches involving India. Reports said the organisers accepted some of the PCB’s conditions but did not agree to demands related to an apology and handshakes.

The World Championship of Legends said the tournament would continue with six teams, describing Pakistan’s withdrawal as being due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
