Headingley, August 21 (TNA) Josh Tongue ripped through Pakistan with a devastating spell, taking seven wickets in 22 balls across the closing stages of Pakistan’s first innings and his first two overs in the second innings. His burst swung the Test sharply in England’s favour, as Pakistan collapsed under sustained pace pressure.
Pakistan had looked settled before Tongue’s intervention turned the contest on its head. He first helped finish off the Pakistan first innings with a five-wicket haul, then returned to strike again early in the second innings, producing a decisive match-defining spell.
That sequence-seven wickets in 22 deliveries-underlined England’s control of the match and Pakistan’s sudden collapse. Tongue’s pace, accuracy and ability to strike in quick bursts left Pakistan’s batting order under immediate pressure.
