New Delhi, September 17 (TNA) India defeated Afghanistan by 127 runs in the third and final T20 International at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday, completing a 3-0 series sweep. The victory was set up by a sensational century from opener Abhishek Sharma, who smashed 108 runs off just 34 balls. His innings included nine fours and 11 sixes and featured a record-breaking hundred in 30 deliveries—the fastest T20I century by an Indian batter.

Put in to bat, India posted a formidable 221 for seven in 20 overs. Abhishek’s assault at the top was complemented by Sanju Samson, who scored a brisk half-century and helped India maintain a high-scoring rate throughout the innings.

Abhishek’s century also placed him among the fastest scorers in T20 international cricket. He became the first batter to score two T20I hundreds in fewer than 40 balls, underlining his growing importance in India’s short-format batting line-up.

Afghanistan struggled to cope with India’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 94 in 14.1 overs. Ibrahim Zadran was the top scorer for Afghanistan with 25 runs, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to build meaningful partnerships.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi claimed three wickets each for India. Their disciplined bowling prevented Afghanistan from recovering after early setbacks and ensured that India completed a comprehensive win.

The result gave India a 3-0 clean sweep in the Friendship Cup T20I series. It also capped a dominant campaign in which India combined aggressive batting with a strong bowling performance in the final match.
