Mumbai, October 31 (TNA) Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action thriller King is set to hit cinemas on December 24, 2026, making it one of the major Bollywood releases of the Christmas holiday season.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film marks his second collaboration with Khan after the 2023 action blockbuster Pathaan. The project is being produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.

Shah Rukh Khan in Lead Role

Khan will play the titular character in what is being presented as an intense action drama. A recently released poster shows the actor in a gritty look, walking out of a flame-filled tunnel while holding a gun, suggesting a dark and high-stakes narrative.

The filmmakers have revealed limited details about the story, including the identities of the main antagonist and the relationships among the principal characters. The secrecy has added to interest surrounding the film ahead of its promotional campaign.

Suhana Khan’s Theatrical Debut

King will feature Suhana Khan alongside her father, marking their first appearance together in a theatrical film. The project is expected to be Suhana’s major-screen debut after her earlier work in the streaming film The Archies.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal and Saurabh Shukla in prominent roles. Reports have also mentioned appearances by Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi, although the makers have not released a complete official character list.

Action-Thriller Collaboration

The film reunites Khan with Anand after Pathaan, which formed part of Yash Raj Films’ spy-universe franchise. Unlike that franchise, King is being developed as a separate action thriller under the Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures banners.

The production team is working on the final schedule and action sequences in Mumbai. Visual effects and post-production work are expected to continue ahead of the December release.

Poster Builds Anticipation

Khan unveiled a new poster for King earlier this week, prompting strong reactions across social media. The poster’s violent and dramatic imagery has led to speculation that the film will combine large-scale action with a revenge-driven emotional storyline, although the plot has not been officially confirmed.

The film is expected to receive further promotional momentum around Khan’s birthday on November 2, when the makers may release additional material. King is currently scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
