Shirdi, September 15 (TNA) An unnamed devotee from Agra offered a silver Nandi weighing 54.065 kilograms at the Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Temple in Shirdi on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
According to the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, the offering included a 27.027-kg silver Nandi and a 27.038-kg silver base. The combined estimated value of the silver idol and its base is ₹1.20 crore.
The devotee also offered 22-carat gold coverings for the Nandi’s horns and a gold bindi weighing 98.6 grams. Including the gold ornaments, the total value of the offering was estimated at around ₹1.34 crore.
Ritual Consecration Held
The new silver Nandi was ceremonially consecrated at the Sai Baba Samadhi Temple. Trust officials said the offering was made anonymously by a Sai devotee from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The donation was made during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, when devotees gathered at the Shirdi temple to offer prayers and religious articles to Sai Baba.
The temple trust recorded the offering and its valuation as part of its official announcements. The silver Nandi and gold ornaments will remain associated with the temple’s religious traditions and worship practices.
