Bengaluru, September 19 (TNA) A 28-year-old man who recently returned from the UK after completing his MTech has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly kidnapping and murdering his 13-year-old neighbour’s son in a planned ransom bid, police said.
The accused, Vaka Bhaskar Reddy, had allegedly sought ₹1 crore to repay his family’s debt of around ₹3 crore, according to investigators. Police said the boy was abducted from Yelahanka on September 16 and taken to an isolated location near Bagalur, where he was assaulted and killed with the help of an accomplice.
The crime surfaced after the accused’s car crashed and the child’s body was found in the boot.
