Palghar, October 29 (TNA) The bodies of three unmarried siblings were found inside a rented flat in the Global City area of Virar West in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police said. The deceased were identified as brothers Kumar Mehta, 50, and Dipesh Mehta, 52, and their sister Khevana Mehta, 48. The siblings had reportedly been living together in the flat since 2025.

Police Suspect Poisoning

Police suspect that the three may have died by suicide after consuming poison. A video allegedly recorded before their deaths reportedly referred to serious illness and financial difficulties, although investigators have not yet established the exact circumstances.

The deaths came to light after residents noticed a strong foul smell coming from the flat. Bolinj police reached the K3 K Avenue building in Global City and broke open the door at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, finding the three bodies inside.

Investigation Underway

Police and forensic teams inspected the scene and collected evidence. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause and time of death. An Accidental Death Report has been registered, and investigators are examining the video, medical history, financial circumstances and other evidence.

Police have not ruled out any angle and said the final cause of death will be established after the post-mortem and forensic reports.

The incident has shocked residents of the housing complex, while authorities continue to investigate why the siblings were living in such difficult circumstances and what led to their deaths.
