Gurugram, September 17 (TNA) Two workers were killed and two others injured after a speeding car allegedly ran over them on the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, police said. The accident took place when the workers were carrying out work along the expressway.
According to preliminary information, the car was travelling at high speed before hitting the group. The impact left two workers dead, while two others sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police teams reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and began collecting evidence. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured workers are undergoing treatment.
The police are examining CCTV footage from the expressway and other available evidence to establish the exact sequence of events. The identity of the car driver and whether the vehicle has been seized were not immediately clear.
A case is expected to be registered against the driver under relevant sections of the law. Police said further details would emerge after recording the statements of eyewitnesses and the injured workers.
