Nagpur/Lucknow, October 21 (TNA) A Nagpur court has granted a 72-hour transit remand to model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Tanveer Ali alias Danish in connection with the death of Lucknow businessman and café owner Shiva Sharma.

The three accused were arrested in Nagpur on Tuesday by a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, Lucknow Police and Nagpur Police after an 11-day search across multiple locations. The Uttar Pradesh Police sought transit remand to take the accused to Lucknow for further investigation. The Nagpur District and Sessions Court allowed the request and directed that the three be produced before a competent court in Uttar Pradesh within the permitted period.

A police team subsequently began transporting them from Nagpur to Lucknow. Investigators are expected to question the accused about the events surrounding Sharma’s death, their movements after the incident and the allegations made by Sharma’s family.

Case background

Shiva Sharma, a 28-year-old café owner, died after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area on October 9. His family alleged that he was murdered, following which police registered a case against Dubey, her sister, the driver and other persons.

Dubey had remained untraceable for several days despite police searches and the issuance of non-bailable warrants. Police teams reportedly examined CCTV footage, digital records and possible movements towards the Nepal border before locating the accused in Nagpur.

Dubey has denied involvement and has reportedly maintained that Sharma died by suicide. Police have not announced any final conclusion about the circumstances of his death, and the allegations against the accused remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.

After the accused are brought to Lucknow, investigators are expected to seek further custody from a local court. The probe will focus on forensic evidence, electronic communications and the statements of witnesses and family members.
