Mumbai, September 13 (TNA) Several parts of Mumbai are witnessing heavy rain on Sunday morning, with overcast skies and high humidity adding to the discomfort for commuters and residents. Localised showers have affected normal movement in some areas, and motorists have been advised to drive carefully on waterlogged or slippery stretches.
As of around 10 am, Mumbai’s Girgaon area recorded a temperature of about 26 degrees Celsius, humidity of 89 per cent and cloud cover of 98 per cent. Winds were blowing from the west at around 9 mph, while visibility stood at nearly 5 miles.
Rain likely to continue
The weather forecast indicates the possibility of further rain during the afternoon, with cloudy conditions expected to persist through the day. Rainfall activity is also likely to continue in parts of the city over the next few days, with morning rain or showers forecast through Wednesday.
Residents have been advised to carry umbrellas or rainwear, avoid unnecessary travel through low-lying areas during intense spells, and check traffic and local train updates before beginning their journey.
Commuters urged to stay alert
Heavy rain in Mumbai often leads to waterlogging on key roads, slower vehicular movement and disruption in suburban rail services. Although no citywide disruption was indicated in the available weather update, commuters should remain alert for localised flooding, falling branches, reduced visibility and delays during periods of intense rainfall.
