Mumbai, September 24 (TNA) The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has postponed its mid-semester examinations scheduled for September 26 and 27. The examinations will now be held on October 10 and 11, according to an official communication issued by the institute.
The rescheduled examinations will follow the same timetable that was originally issued for September 26 and 27. Students have been advised to note the revised dates and prepare accordingly.
The decision was taken after consultations with student representatives and other stakeholders. It comes amid protests on the IIT Bombay campus following the death of second-year BTech student Sahil Wakode on September 18.
The institute has constituted a committee with equal representation from students to review and prepare clearer, student-friendly procedures for invigilators dealing with suspected academic misconduct during examinations. Faculty members have also sought step-by-step guidelines for handling such cases.
The postponement is expected to provide the committee additional time to review the examination process and formulate revised standard operating procedures. IIT Bombay has asked students to follow further updates issued through official channels.
