Nalkheda, September 19 (TNA) Eight devotees, including three children, two women and three men, died after the car they were travelling in was swept away by a rain-swollen stream near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar Malwa district, police said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Soni said all the deceased were residents of Odisha and had travelled from Ujjain to visit the temple.
Preliminary findings suggest that the driver may have attempted to cross the stream in haste despite the strong current, leading to the accident. Administrative officials and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation, while efforts were underway to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
