New Delhi, August 24 (TNA) Bad weather and heavy rain lashed Delhi today, disrupting normal life across several parts of the capital. The downpour brought traffic snarls, waterlogging in low-lying areas and a sharp dip in temperatures, while the India Meteorological Department kept rain alerts in place for parts of the city.
According to weather reports, the capital has been receiving intermittent to heavy showers, with some areas placed under red or orange alerts as thunderstorms and lightning continued to affect the city. The IMD said light to moderate rain, along with cloudy skies, could continue through the day.
Several roads were seen flooded after the rain, slowing down vehicular movement during peak hours. Commuters, office-goers and public transport users faced delays as the city struggled with the combined impact of rain, waterlogging and reduced visibility.
The spell of rain has also helped cool the city, easing humidity that had built up over previous days. However, the relief came with inconvenience, as officials and residents dealt with repeated waterlogging in parts of Delhi and the wider NCR region.
