New Delhi, September 1 (TNA) The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased from September 1, bringing a fresh cost burden for businesses that use cooking gas on a large scale. Oil marketing companies have raised the price of the 19-kg commercial cylinder by Rs 9.50 in Delhi, taking the new rate to Rs 2,747.50 per cylinder.

The revised prices are also applicable in other major cities. In Mumbai, the 19-kg cylinder now costs Rs 2,701, while the new rates in Chennai and Kolkata stand at Rs 2,916.50 and Rs 2,884, respectively.

The increase comes after two consecutive monthly cuts in commercial LPG prices. However, there is relief for household consumers, as the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been kept unchanged at Rs 942 in Delhi and at similar levels in other cities. The 14.2-kg domestic cylinder in Lucknow is listed at Rs 979.50 and has not changed in this revision.

The hike is expected to impact restaurants, hotels, tea stalls and other food businesses that rely on commercial cylinders.
