Patna, September 22 (TNA) In Bihar’s Jamui district, police have detained three accused in connection with an incident involving the alleged molestation and indecent behaviour with a minor girl student.
Jamui Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Dayal said that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act after a detailed investigation of the viral video.
He said that a special investigation team, constituted under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Deepti Monali, is conducting raids to arrest the other absconding accused. He added that action is also being taken to remove the uploaded video from social media platforms.
Meanwhile, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Apsara has strongly condemned the incident. She said that a team of the Commission will soon meet the victim and gather complete information about the case. She said strict punishment will be ensured for those responsible.
Sports Minister and Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh has also condemned the incident. She said that the administration is taking prompt action in the matter.
