Bengaluru, November 6 (TNA) A 53-year-old cab driver has been arrested for allegedly killing seven members of his wife’s family, including his wife and a seven-year-old boy, following a prolonged domestic dispute, police sources said.

The accused, identified as Indushekhar, allegedly carried out the killings over two days at his residence near Bhashyam Circle in the city’s Srirampura–Rajajinagar area. He is accused of transporting the bodies in his car and dumping them at different locations, including areas near Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district and Charmadi Ghat in coastal Karnataka.

Victims Identified

The victims were identified as Indushekhar’s wife Sunitha, his mother-in-law Rupavathi, his brothers-in-law Shivakumar and Shankar, their wives Divya and Nalini, and seven-year-old Puneeth, police sources said.

Police have recovered the child’s body near Nandi Hills, while searches were continuing for the remaining victims. Investigators were examining several locations where the accused allegedly disposed of the bodies.

Domestic Dispute Suspected

According to preliminary findings, the accused had allegedly been resentful of his wife’s relationship with and support from her mother and brothers during repeated marital disputes. Police suspect that the killings were connected to tensions within the family.

Investigators are also examining claims that the accused used a heavy household object in the attacks and later used chemicals to remove bloodstains from the crime scene. These details are part of the ongoing investigation and have not yet been established in court.

Probe Underway

The accused was taken into custody after police began investigating the disappearance of members of the family. Officers are questioning him to verify his alleged confession and establish the sequence of events.

Police teams are conducting searches at suspected dumping sites, collecting forensic evidence and examining vehicle and other records. Further arrests, if any, will depend on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
