Jammu, August 28 (TNA) The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will officially culminate today with the traditional Chhari Mubarak ceremony at the Holy Cave shrine. The 57-day pilgrimage began on July 3 through the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. More than 480,000 devotees performed darshan at the holy cave shrine before the regular Yatra was suspended from August 9 due to adverse weather conditions and damage to the tracks.
Despite the suspension of the regular Yatra, the sacred journey of Chhari Mubarak continued as per tradition. Led by its custodian Mahant Deependra Giri, the holy mace reached Panchtarni yesterday after following the traditional route from Srinagar.
It will proceed to the Holy Cave today, where special prayers and traditional rituals will be performed. With the traditional Chhari Mubarak ceremony, the annual Amarnath Yatra will officially come to an end.
