Jaipur/New Delhi, October 14 (TNA) Air India flight AI-2030, operating from Frankfurt to Delhi, made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday morning after a security alert was received, officials said.

The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was diverted to Jaipur after the alert was communicated to air traffic control and security agencies. The plane landed safely at around 9:45 am and was moved to an isolation bay for security checks.

Security personnel and officials boarded the aircraft after landing and began inspecting the plane and passenger luggage. The aircraft was kept away from the main airport apron as a precautionary measure.

Preliminary reports said the alert may have been triggered after a brief “Squawk 7500” signal was received while the aircraft was flying through the Mumbai Flight Information Region. The code is used to indicate unlawful interference or a possible hijacking situation.

Some reports initially linked the incident to a possible bomb threat, while other accounts said it may have stemmed from a hijacking rumour. Authorities were examining the circumstances behind the alert and had not immediately confirmed any bomb or suspicious object on board.

All passengers and crew members were reported safe. They were moved to a designated holding area at the airport while security agencies conducted checks on the aircraft. According to flight-tracking data, AI-2030 had departed Frankfurt at around 9:45 pm on October 13 and was scheduled to reach Delhi at approximately 10:40 am on October 14. The flight was diverted to Jaipur at about 9:10 am before landing roughly 35 minutes later.
Further details are awaited from Air India, Jaipur airport authorities and security agencies after completion of the inspection.
