Lucknow, October 22 (TNA) Gold prices declined in several Indian markets on Thursday, with rates in major Uttar Pradesh cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi remaining broadly aligned with national bullion trends.

In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was quoted at approximately ₹1,42,700 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at around ₹1,35,900 per 10 grams. Both rates were lower than the previous day, according to market-rate data.

A separate city-wise estimate put 24-carat gold in Lucknow, Prayagraj and Varanasi at about ₹1,46,230 per 10 grams, and 22-carat gold at approximately ₹1,34,050 per 10 grams. Rates can differ between data providers because of reporting time, local bullion-market pricing, taxes and jeweller margins.

At the national level, 24-carat gold was reported at around ₹14,607 per gram, or approximately ₹1,46,070 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood near ₹13,389 per gram, or ₹1,33,890 per 10 grams.

Gold prices were under pressure amid weakness in global bullion markets and concerns that elevated crude-oil prices could fuel inflation. Investors were also assessing currency movements, interest-rate expectations and geopolitical developments.

Jewellery prices may continue to vary through the day depending on international gold prices, the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local demand ahead of the festive season.
