CNG Prices in Delhi Rise by Nearly 4 Rupees, Inflation Shock Hits

New Delhi, August 29 (TNA) CNG users in Delhi-NCR are set to pay more as Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of compressed natural gas by ₹3.89 per kg. The revised rate of ₹86.98 per kg came into effect from 6 am on August 29, 2026, up from the earlier ₹83.09 per kg.

IGL said the increase was necessitated by a steep rise in international LNG prices, which have surged amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia. The company said a significant portion of the gas used for CNG is sourced through imported LNG, making retail prices vulnerable to global market movements.

According to the company, the revision is intended to partially absorb the higher input cost while continuing to ensure stable CNG supply. The latest hike is expected to add to transport expenses for auto, cab and other CNG vehicle users in the capital region.
