Venomous Cobra Slips Into Quarantine Center At Agra, Rescued

AGRA || A venomous cobra was rescued from the Anand Engineering College close to the Soor Sarovar sanctuary on Wednesday. This institution has been turned into a quarantine centre by the district administration. The snake was rescued by the Wildlife SOS Rapid Response Team and later released back in the wild.

The NGO rescued another cobra from the Sunny Toyota a car showroom in Artoni. The cobra was sighted at the entry gate of the Quarantine Centre located on National Highway-2 on Tuesday morning. Anand Engineering College, which is a part of the Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI) has been converted into an institutional quarantine facility amid the Covid 19 pandemic.

Shailley Singh, who called Wildlife SOS, said, “We didn’t want to cause any harm to the cobra, so we called Wildlife SOS for help. Their team arrived promptly to carry out the rescue.”

Baiju Raj M.V, Director Conservation Projects at Wildlife SOS, said, “Our team had to exercise extreme caution and followed the safety guidelines at the quarantine centre. Reptile sightings are quite common in this area as it is located very close to the Sur Sarovar Bird Sanctuary.”
